About Ralph & Ralph: A North Shore Buyers’ Agency Built on Family, Service and Legacy

Ralph & Ralph isn't just a business name. It's a family legacy spanning generations and 75+ years of helping families find their home.

Meet Andrew Schaverien

Your North Shore Buyers' Agent: Local Knowledge, Military Values, Family Focus

Andrew isn't just a buyers' agent who works on the North Shore. He's lived here most of his life. Born and raised in Castle Cove, he and his wife are now raising their own children in Willoughby.

He knows the North Shore the way you know your own street.

Which school catchments are most sought-after. Which streets flood. Which have the best north aspect. The quiet, leafy pockets perfect for young families. The charm of a Federation home versus the clean lines of mid-century architecture. The small details that make a house feel like home.

This isn't market data. It's lived experience.

Professional Background:

Andrew is a former Officer in the Australian Regular Army, where he shaped his personal values that guide his work today: honesty, altruism and responsibility. After leaving the Army, he worked as a public servant for NSW Police and has spent years in adult education.

These experiences taught him that doing what's right matters more than doing what's profitable. That clear communication builds trust. That service means putting others first.

Today, Andrew holds a Real Estate Licence and works as a buyers' agent in NSW. He brings his military discipline, educational background and deep local knowledge to every client relationship. He helps North Shore families find their perfect home with the same care and commitment he'd bring to finding his own.

Andrew's goal is simple: To help you find the right fit. Not just any home, but the perfect home for you and your family.

Why "Ralph & Ralph"? A Legacy of Service and Family

Multiple Generations, Two Ralphs, One Commitment: Helping Families Find Home

The name Ralph & Ralph carries a legacy that began in post-war Brighton, England and continues today on Sydney's North Shore.

The Original Ralph & Ralph: Brighton, 1940s

Ralph & Ralph was founded as an estate agency in Brighton, Sussex, United Kingdom in the late 1940s by Ralph Schaverien (Andrew's grandfather) and Ralph Silverstone (Ralph Schaverien's brother-in-law).

Both men were veterans. Both had served their country. And after the war, both dedicated themselves to helping families find homes in a time of rebuilding and hope.

Ralph & Ralph operated in Brighton and Hove for nearly 50 years, providing rental homes and property services to the local community right through to the late 1990s.

The legacy they built wasn't just about property. It was about service, integrity and putting families first.

  • Ralph Schaverien was a WWII veteran who left the British Army in 1947 and spent the rest of his life in the Brighton area with his wife Frances.

He was a man of sharp wit, dry humour, and unwavering integrity. A passionate rugby fan who loved to tease his Australian grandchildren about English victories. A grandfather who lived to 104 and never stopped joking with Andrew about having more hair than him.

But more than anything, Ralph Schaverien was a man who believed in doing right by people.

He built Ralph & Ralph on the principle that helping families find a place to call home was about more than transactions. It was about trust, honesty, and genuine care.

That principle is the foundation of Ralph & Ralph today.

The Legacy Continues: Ralph & Ralph on Sydney's North Shore

When Andrew decided to start his own buyers' agency, there was only one name that felt right: Ralph & Ralph.

Not just to honour his grandfather and great-uncle, but to carry forward the values they lived by:

  • Service: Putting clients first, always

  • Integrity: Doing what's right, not what's profitable

  • Family: Understanding that a home isn't just property. It's where life happens

Today, Ralph & Ralph operates on Sydney's North Shore, helping families navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives with the same honesty, care and commitment that defined the original Ralph & Ralph in Brighton.

Multiple generations. 75+ years of helping families find home.

That's the legacy you're working with when you choose Ralph & Ralph.

  • Ralph Silverstone was born in Wales and served as a fireman during the Blitz. After WWII, he became a property developer and philanthropist, heavily involved in community work.

He was married to Joy (Ralph Schaverien's older sister) and had two daughters. Like his brother-in-law, Ralph Silverstone believed that property wasn't just about buildings. It was about creating homes where families could thrive.

Together, the two Ralphs built a business that served their community for nearly half a century.

  • Our Family Supporting Yours

We Understand That Family Means Something Different to Everyone

Ralph & Ralph is a family business built on values instilled through our family and continuing to support families as we have for generations.

Whether it's a growing household, a tight-knit partnership or something entirely your own, our goal is to help you find a home where you and your loved ones feel grounded, connected, and truly at home.

Buying a home is about more than securing property. It's a journey filled with emotion and decisions that impact your future.

Your next home is a highly emotional decision and so it should be. Home is where the heart is and we want your heart to be in your perfect home.

Our approach goes beyond the transaction, offering you thoughtful guidance and a personal connection that makes the entire process smooth, meaningful and tailored to your needs.

  • Our Values (Inherited and Lived)

Built on Integrity, Guided by Service

The values that guide Ralph & Ralph today aren't new. They're shaped by the same principles Ralph Schaverien and Ralph Silverstone built their business on in post-war Brighton.

Honesty We tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. If a property isn't right, we'll tell you to walk away. Even if it delays our fee.

Altruism Your outcome matters more than our commission. We lock our fee to your budget upfront so we have zero financial incentive to push you to spend more. Don't believe it? Propose a fee structure and we'll prove it.

Responsibility We take ownership of your search from start to finish. We place the same importance on finding your perfect home as we would our own.

This isn't marketing speak. It's how we operate, and it's how the original Ralph & Ralph operated for nearly 50 years.

We stand by the Australian Defence Force's values and uphold these standards in all we do. Our commitment to these values guides our work, ensuring exceptional service and unwavering integrity.

Just as Ralph Schaverien and Ralph Silverstone brought their military values to property in post-war Brighton, Andrew brings his Army values to helping North Shore families today.
